Darkstar has emerged as one of the leading U.S. skateboard makers, due in no small part to their commitment to improving their deck designs and constructions with each passing year.
Their latest coup is the "Armor Light" deck construction. The board is made of seven ultra light weight maple veneers and a special resin glue for extra stiffness, and features a special carbon composite center leading to exceedingly increased strength.

 The CORE Trucks (Generation II) that come with the deck are lightweight and allow plenty of clearance for grinds. CORE builds quality trucks, the kind every skater can trust. Nice, classic shape, but also very robust.
The leading edge allows for fat grinds without exposing the kingpin, while the bushings (imported from theU.S.) are smooth and responsive, provide awesome turning, and great memory.
The ABEC 5 bearings are super-smooth and speed-oiled. Fast enough for pipe and street skating, but not too sensitive on landings. Really tough.
