FLIP SKATEBOARDS began as Deathbox Skateboards in the United Kingdom during the early 1990's, later evolving into Flip when the company moved to the United States. Flip skateboard deck designs tend to have a dark or militaristic flair to them. Many of their boards, for example, feature skulls, the German military iron cross, or are otherwise associated with the HKD (hate, kill, destroy) motto.

The Flip team riders include skaters like:
Tom Penny, Geoff Rowley, Ali Boulala, Mark Appleyard, Rodrigo TX, Lance Montain, Bob Burnquist, Rune Glifberg and David Gonzalez.
