Zoo York
Alles fing in den 70ern mit den "Soul Artists of Zoo York" an, einer Gruppe skatender Graffiti Artists in New York. Einer von ihnen, Rodney Smith, gründete 1986 Shut Skateboards, die erste Company, die die bestehende Szene im New Yorker Nordosten mit einer eigenen Marke und einem Skateboard-Team versorgte Im Jahre 1991 machte Smith Shut Skateboards dicht und plante seinen nächstgrößeren Streich: Zoo York Skateboards. Er tat sich mit Designerin Eli Morgan Gessner und Manager Adam Schatz zusammen, und 1993 konnte Zoo York Skateboards dann endlich an den Start gehen. Seitdem haben Zoo York Skateboards sich zu einem echten Klassiker in der Szene entwickelt.
