Tensor Mag Light 5.50 Regular Silver Truck
€45.99

The Tensor Mag Light 5.50 Regular Silver is a wide all-around truck for decks in the 7.9–8.5″ range. Magnesium hanger plus hollow kingpin and hollow axle drop the weight well below standard setups.
The ATG geometry stays responsive and delivers solid pop and wheel clearance for cruiser wheels. Magnesium glides cleanly on curbs and ledges — a reliable pick for modern street and transition setups.

Tensor Trucks
Tensor Trucks is Rodney Mullen’s truck brand — founded in 2000 with one clear brief: lighter than anything before. Magnesium Mag Light hangers, hollow kingpins and hollow axles are still the pitch. If you want pop without extra weight under your deck, you end up at Tensor sooner or later.
Heritage — Mullen’s Truck Lab
Tensor was built under Dwindle Distribution when Rodney Mullen started rethinking truck geometry and materials instead of copying existing designs. Mullen holds U.S. Patent 6,443,471B1 covering the core design features: replaceable polymer baseplate sliders, interlocking bushings with stabilizing flanges, and buttonhead kingpins with machined splines. That last detail later got picked up by Independent and Thunder — a pretty direct nod to the brand’s influence.
The team reads like a tech-skating roster: Rodney Mullen himself, Daewon Song with his own pro line, and a string of pros from the Dwindle world (Almost, Enjoi). Daewon’s All-Terrain geometry is one of the few truck pro models that actually rides different, not just looks different.
Which Tensor Model for Which Skater?
The range splits along material and profile. Rule of thumb: Mag Light when every gram counts, Alloy/Aluminum as a solid daily-beater at a friendly price.
- Mag Light — magnesium-alloy hanger, hollow axle, hollow kingpin. Up to 25% lighter than industry standard. Made for technical flatground, manuals and anything where quick pop matters.
- Mag Light Slicks — Mullen’s pro build in low profile, dialled for max response with smaller wheels (52mm and under).
- Mag Light Velvet — same Mag Light platform with a velvet soft-touch finish. Visual upgrade, no performance trade-off.
- Mag Light Stencil Mirror — chromed mirror-finish hanger with stencilled graphics, still on the Mag Light base.
- Aluminum / Alloy — standard aluminum hanger, tougher and cheaper than Mag Light. Solid entry into the Tensor geometry.
- Daewon All-Terrain Mag Light — pro geometry from Daewon Song, built for mixed terrain between street and transition.
Sizes & Setup
Tensor runs the classic grid — axle width matters more than hanger number alone. Quick reference:
- 5.0 hanger — 7.625" axle, for decks up to roughly 7.75"
- 5.25 hanger — 8.0" axle, the all-rounder for 7.75"–8.125"
- 5.5 hanger — 8.25" axle, for 8.125"–8.375"
- 5.75 hanger — 8.5" axle, for wider cruiser and transition setups
Lo and regular profiles are available in most sizes. Lo goes with smaller wheels and a lower centre of gravity, regular plays nice with bigger wheels and a bit more clearance.
FAQ
Are Tensor trucks really the lightest on the market?
The Mag Light line is among the lightest production trucks you can buy. Tensor claims up to 25% weight savings versus standard trucks — magnesium hanger plus hollow axle and hollow kingpin do the work.
What axle width for my deck?
Rule of thumb: keep axle width close to deck width. 8.0" deck → 5.25 hanger / 8.0" axle. More tolerance going narrower than wider — too narrow just feels weird on grinds, too wide drags on every kick.
Mag Light or Alloy — worth the upgrade?
If you skate technical flatground, lots of flip tricks or manuals: yes, the weight difference is noticeable. Cruiser, park, hard grinds: Alloy is enough and costs less.
