Magenta Skateboards

Magenta Skateboards is an independent skateboarder-owned company founded in Paris in 2010 by Soy Panday and brothers Vivien and Jean Feil. With no middleman or businessman in sight, every person involved in Magenta is a skateboarder - art director Soy creates all the brand's graphics, including logos, boards and ads, boss Vivien looks after the business, while Jean handles shipping and photo shoots.

Magenta's goal is to promote and focus on the creative and meaningful side of skateboarding while offering the best products possible. All of its boards are made in the USA from the best Canadian wood - standouts in its latest catalogue are a series of signature boards by Olivier 'Tavu' Ente, which feature a portrait of each of Magenta's pro skaters on a map they call home.

The first person to join Magenta was Leo Valls in 2010, quickly followed by Florida's favourite son Jimmy Lannon and filmer Yoan Taillandier. In 2012, Magenta added Zach Lyons from Washington DC and Koichiro Uehara from Osaka, Japan. The current Magenta Pro Skate team consists of Panday, Vivien Feil, Valls, Lyons, Lannon and Uehara, as well as newcomer Ben Gore from San Francisco.

After a series of promos including Microcosme, SF Hill Street Blues, SF Hill Street Blues 2 and Panic in Gotham, Magenta released its first full-length film Soleil Levant "about the connection between France and Japan" in 2013 - in which Magenta played complete team plus riders such as Takahiro Morita, Shinpei Ueno, Shingo Ogura, Sebastien Daurel and Masaki Ui.
